The death occurred of a patient admitted from Morningside in low condition. Dr. Valintine and the local health authorities visited Mount Albert district and come to the conclusion that the outbreak would be practically confined there. It is now well in hand with the precautions taken to ensure a pure water supply. MENTAL HOSPITAL AFFECTED. NEW CASES YESTERDAY. Auckland, Last Night. Sixty cases of typhoid have occurred in the Avondale mental hospital and there has been one death. No notification has been made, as the asylum is not under the control of the health office. Nine fresh cases were reported in Mount Albert to-day.
