PERSONS IN INSTITUTIONS. WRONGFUL DETENTION ALLEGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Orange Grand Lodge gathering has concluded. The following resolutions were passed: “That the Grand Lodge, being firmly of opinion that persons have been and are being detained against their wills in certain institutions in New Zealand, calls upon the Government to pass such legislation as will prohibit such involuntary servitude, and also provide for inspection by duly appointed Government inspectors of such institutions ; and, further, where industries are being carried on the same shall be brought within the scope of the Labor legislation of the Dominion.” “That in the interests of the national system of education, the Minister for Education be. urged to introduce legislation withdrawing railway concessions to all children where such children travel past national schools.”
