THE STANDARD OF LIVING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, April 13. Speaking at the show luncheon Mr. Hughes declared that they must maintain the Australian standard of living. He was strongly opposed to bringing it down, but the idea of not doing a fair day’s work must go, and go quickly. Only by mutual concessions between the employer and employee could the standard of living progress and the country be maintained.
