ANZAC DAY.
NEW PLYMOUTH SERVICE. A COMBINED PARADE. Arrangements are in hand for a public open-air commemoration service in New ■Plymouh on Anzac Day. The Returned Soldiers’ Association intend following the plan adopted at last year’s service. A parade will be held in the morning combining members of th© R.S.A., Maori War Veterans, South African Veterans, Legion of Frontiersmen, Territorials, Senior Cadets, High School Cadets, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and representatives of the various local and public bodies. These will move off in procession from the Post Office at 10.30, and march via Devon and Liardet Streets to Pukekuna Park, where a short commemoration service will take place on the sports ground. The service, which is timed for 11 o’clock, will be conducted by the ministers of local churches. It is hoped to have a party of 100 returned soldiers, under Lieut. L. W. Andrew, V.C., for the purpose of firing a salute on the occasion. On the afternoon of Anzac Day a service will be held in St. Andrew’s Church, when a memorial to the men connected with the church who at the front will be unveiled by Col. Weston. At night a sacred concert, in aid of the funds of the R.S.A., will be given by the Choral Society.
