At Hamilton on Tuesday, April 11, our yarding of cattle and pigs was up to the average, but sheep, especially fats, were not so plentiful. Fat cattle were not equal to lust week’s rates, competition being dull throughout. Steers made to £5 5s for medium weights, cows best from £3 to £4 2s, lighter weights from £2 to £2 10s; fresh conditioned cows £1 10s to £2; 18-monrh steers to 2-years were in good demand, all quality of cattle finding ready sale. Best made to £2 8s; second quality £1 10s to £1 15s; inferior £1 Is; heifers, same age, but small, 38s to £2; f.a. heifers, 2-year, in good condition, made from £2 5s to £2 17s 6d. Heifers in calf experienced a sharp rise, bidding for all pens being exceedingly brisk. Good quality 2-year-oids made from £5 12s 6d to £« Bs, second quality £4 to £4 7s 6d. The demand for calves was not so keen, and a number of pens were passed in. Forward ewes made to 14s 6d, good store lambs 10s 6d to 13s; young ewes in •lamb to Romney rams made 18s for good quality; older ewes 10s Id to 13s 6d. i*tgs were again the subject of strong competition, baconers making to £4 3s; heavy porkers and light baconers £2 10s to £3 ss; light and medium porkers £1 15s to £2 7s 6d; gtKKI slips £1 7s 6d to £1 12s 6d; small slips 15s to £1; weaners 8s to 12s Gd; small weaners from 4s Gd.
