BRITAIN TO AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Melbourne, April 4. Mr. Bruce, the Commonwealth Treasurer, referring to criticism of the wireless ageement, explained that the Commonwealth was not committed to any expenditure in the erection of a direct communication station in Australia. The board of directors will enter into a contract for the work, for which any wireless company may apply. The Government has power to prevent a company erecting stations in Australia which are likely to compete against the telegraph lines.
