BIG WANGANUI SALE. SLIGHT ADVANCE IN PRICES. / By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The biggest wool sale ever held in Wanganui took place to-day, when 19,200 bales were offered to a full bench of buyers representing the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Continent, America, Japan and the Dominion. For scourers the bidding was very spirited and the tone of the market firm. Prices showed a slight advance on the January sale held here.
The range of prices was as follows: l Fine crossbred, super 81<1 to 9£d, average 7d to BJd, inferior 4|d to 6d; medium crossbred, super 8d to B%d. average ssd to 7£d, inferior 4sd to s|d; coarse crossbred super 5%d to average 5d to 6|d, inferior 3d to 4%d; low crossbred super 5Jd to average 4 1 />d to 5%d, inferior 3d to 4}d; hoggets, fine, to 9£d, medium 5d to 7 1 Z*d, coarse 4Ad to 8»/ 2 d, low 3d to lambs’ down 7£d to 9%d. fine 6d to B|d. medium 4£d to 7d; seedy and inferior 2d to sd; crossbred, good to super. 3d to low to medium l%d to 3d; crutehings, medium to good, 2sd to 3%d; inferior to seedy, lid to 2|d; locks Id to l’/ed.
