PARIS “BLUEBEARD”
DEVELOPMENT IN THE CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Paris, Feb. I'd. Landru appears determined to maintain the grimmest cynicism to the last. The Petit Journal received from Montreal a letter from a Frenchman who declared that he was informed reliably that Madam Heon. one of Landru’s alleged victims, was buried in Montreal. When the letter -was shown to Landru’s counsel the latter replied: “I shall be justified to the, last. When I last saw Landru in his cell I implored him to hide nothing -from me.” Landru replied: “Very well, I will confess absolutely everything. Sit down and listen. I took 11 women, and burnt them with a lighted candle, which did its work tvell.” The French consul in Montreal has been ordered to verity the statement in the letter.
