NEW PLYMOUTH HOMING CLUB.
GENERAL MEETING. A general meeting of the New Plymouth Homing Pigeon Club was held at the club room. Brougham Street, on Monday evening. There was a good attendance of members, Mr. F. Julian presiding. The chairman briefly referred to the work of the past old bird season, when it had been proved that yearlings could successfully compete with older birds over long distances, as several yearlings had recently flown from Christchurch to New Plymouth. - It. was decided to commence the season bj’ having a toss from Inglewood on Saturday next, 18th instllnt, and continue races weekly by prolonging the race points until Palmerston North is reached on April 12 next. A second hamper is to follow, by commencing at Inglew'ood on March 14 and ending at Palmerston North on May 13. From the latter point interval races for single birds owned by respective members will eventuate to complete the season. The second hamper has been arranged to permit any new member who may not be ready to commence flying operations at once to participate in later events.
