Barbelot, special commissioner of the Bourse, who informed the. police that great numbers of telegrams arrive daily from abroad, chiefly from London, addressed to French business people, warning them oi the instability of the Bank of France and other institutions. The signatories cannot bi identified. The Minuter of the Interior, in a statement to Cabinet on the subject, believed it was a deliberate attempt to sow financial mistrust of France.
