N.P. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The New Plymouth Tennis Club championships are now rapidly nearing completion. Despite the bad weather of the past fortnight, most of the matches have reached the final stage. In the ladies' singles semifinals Miss Brewster beat Miss Greatbatch 6—o, 6—5, and Miss Simpson beat Mrs. Brewster. The final between Miss Brewster and Miss Simpson takes place this afternoon. Yesterday, in the semi-finals of the men s singles, C. B. Webster beat Archer 6—3, 6—4,' 6—3. Nicholson and Dr. Alison will meet to-day, and the winner will play Webster for the championship. '
STRATFORD v. METHODISTS.
At the new Methodist courts on Thursday, the Methodist Club beat a team from the Stratford Club, winning 13 sets to 6, and in games 94 to 6".
