INDIANS AND FIJI.
COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Jan. 30. The appointment of Lieutenant Hessa Muddin, an Indian commissioned officer, as a member of the Fiji delegation is regarded as an indication of the Indian Government’s desire to discover whether Fiji affords facilities for settlement j of Indian ex-service men. It is hoped ny the introduction of a higher responsible class of Indian immigrant to lead to a better understanding between India and Fijian colonists over the handling of problems connected with the employment of Indian labor. Much satisfaction is felt in India at the prospect of Mr. W. M. Hughes, the Australian Prime Minister, conferring with the delegation.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
