REVELATIONS BY EX-EMPRESS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Conyrtgl t. Paris. 24. A representative of Le Mati * interviewed the ex-Empress Zita at Bordeaux. The ex-Empress recalled a luncheon with the German Admiral Holtzandorff during the war. The latter was certain that submarine# would bring England to her knees in 1917. Karl strongly opposed submarine warfare. Some months later, when Generals Hindenburg and Ludendorff dine<l with the ex-'Empress, the latter asked General Hindenburg: “Well, is England on her knees?” General Hindohburg, who was courteous, replied philosophically that ‘War was an affair in which one often deceived oneself’, lint General Ludendorff was so angry that I changed the conversation.” —Aus.-N.Z.
