The position of the Queen Carnival candidates to date i»: Mountain Queen (Miss White) 4555; Loyal Queen (Miss Taylor) . 4500; Juvenile Queen (Miss Marchant) 4300: Motor Queen (Miss Henricksen) 2400. On Saturday the Eltham Highland Pipe Band journeyed to Inglewood to assist the candidature of the Mountain Queen, and report much success. On Sunday evening a very largely attended sacred concert was given in aid of the Juvenile Queen. The cake-weight guessing competition was won by Mr. Slater, who guessed the correct wejght, 8 l-41bs. At Manaia on Saturday the Eltham and Manaia teams played a drawn match in the senior cricket competition. The Eltham juniors journeyed to Hawera and were defeated by the Rawer a juniors. A team from the Hawera Park Tenis Club visited Eltham on Saturday and defeated Eltham in the inter-club competition.
