INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Jan. 23. The weather on Saturday was very unfavorable for the efforts of the members of the Eltham Pipe Band’who visited Inglewood that day, in hopes of augmenting the funds of the carnival which is in full swing at their home town. So boisterous was the wind, and the dust was in such clouds that few cared for staying in the open streets to listen to the music, so that it is to be feared our visitors must have been disappointed with the results of their journey. However, though we sympathise with our Eltham neighbors in their illJuck so far as weather is concerned, \ve wish them well and at the same time hope that the fates will be kind’, and deal us out a really first-class Al suitable day for the Scouts’ sports on Thursday, for we are all very proud of our Scout boys, and glory in their achievements, while we try to recognise the good they do and form some conception of the evils they frustrate. The Scout movement, in fact, is one of the very best assets of our time, and deserves much more hearty and sincere support than is accorded to it.
