Mr. Herbert Fleishhacker, a San Francisco capitalist, is discussing with the steamship firms operating the United States Shipping Board vessels in the Pacific trade, plans for the formation of a thirty million dollar pool to purchase the vessels, and abolishing competition detrimental to American commerce. It is understood the Shipping Board will be asked to allocate fifteen big liners for passenger and freight trade in the Far East, India, and Australia, the pool arranging to buy these steamers on part time pay-ment.—Aus.-N.Z.
