NEWI AUSTRALASIAN STANDARDS. By Telegr*ph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Adelaide, Dec. 30. The biennial conference of the amateur athletic representatives fixed new Australasian standards. The half-mile was reduced from 2min. lsec. to 2min.; walks, one mile 7 minutes, two miles 14min. 45 sec., three miles 23min. 15sec.; 120 yards hurdles (3ft. 6in.) was reduced from 16 2-ssec. to 16sec.; the high jump was made sft. Bin.; the running broad jump was raised from 21ft. to 21ft. 6in.; the pole vault from 10ft. to 10ft. 6in.; the 161 b. shot from 37ft. to 38ft.; discus throwing from 105 ft. to 110 ft. Officers were elected as follow:—President, Mr. R. Coombes; secretary, Mr. E. S. Marks; treasurer, Mr. S. R. Rowiy.
