A special article in the Herald calls attention to the costly item in Federal economy which reduces the Air Force to inefficiency, only five squadrons of the seven planned as the minimum remain, as the result of a reduction of £lOO,OOO in the Air Force vote. Instead of eighteen machines per squadron there are now only four, or the whole force is reduced from 90 to 19. Officers and men are reduced from 138,791 to 48,252.
