BUSY CHRISTMAS EVE. The tramway traffic in New Plymouth was very heavy on Christmas Eve, and the takings amounted to £lO7, as compared with. £lOl on Christmas Eve last year. For the six days of the week the takings were £27 more than those for the corresponding week last year. A particularly pleasing feature was the complete absence of accidents either to passengers or of a mechanical nature; in spite of the rush of business the service was carried out without the slightest mishap.
