ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PEOPLE’S. GERALDINE FARRAR AND LOU TELLEQEN. “Flame of the Desert,” the latest Goldwyn picture, starring Geraldine harrar and Lou Tellegen, will be seen at the People’s to-night. Romantic love appeal and political intrigue form the basis of this remarkable story. The Egyptian desert peoples invoke the curse of Allah against foreign infidels, and plot to overthrow British rule in Egypt. An'uprising of this sort, however, has been suspected, and for years Sheik Essad (Lou Tellegen), in reality a British army officer, has lived among the people of Sahara and learned of their plans. In London, at the Victory Ball, he meets Lady Isabella Channing (Geraldine Farrar). A great love theme is at ouce developed, and when romance is carried to Cairo, Lady Isabella is tormented by the dictates of her heart and her pride of race. As the plot unfolds, the keenest faculties of Sheik Essad, the supposed Egyptian, are called into play in defending-: his Government, and even before his real identity is learned, the woman he loves is called upon to prove the real depths of her feeling for him, regardless of caste. The bill includes gazette, comedy and “The Diamond Queen.” EVERYBODY’S. LAST NIGHT OF “HEART OF TWENTY.” “The Heart of Twenty,.’ Zasu Pitts’ latest picture, which will conclude tonight, at Everybody’s, gives this inimitable comedienne of the screen endless opportunities to display the unique talents which made her famous. Miss Pitts is seen in the characterisation of Katie Abbott, the homely, forlorn girl just bu«.ding into womanhood, Who is the possessor of “The Heart of Twenty.” The story is filled with situations replete with comedy and pathos. Tom Gallery has the leading role, and it is interesting to note that the romance between these two in this picture has developed into reality, for during the filming of the scenes Tom and Zasu became united in matrimony. The bill includes gazettes, comedy and “Tne Invisible Hand.”
