INGLEWOOD.
BOROUGH COUNCIL. • (From Our Own Correspondent.) Dec. 14. The Borough Council met on Tuesday. Present: The Mayor (Mr. J. R. Sutherland), and Crs. Egarr, Eagar, Fawcett, "Frewin, Gamlin and Spurdie. The town clerk’s action in regard to dog collars to be procured from Mr. A. Kennedy, was confirmed. The council resolved to acknowledge the letter received from Dr. Valintine (Director of Health) regarding preventive steps concerning plague, and advise him that precautions have been taken and a special clean-up carried olit. The report of the works committee was adopted. The electric light committee's report was adopted. . The 'dog tax for 1922 was fixed at 10s per dog, with a rebate of 5s if paid on or before April 3Q, 1922. The addition of ]0 per cent, to all rates not paid on or before January 16 prox. was decided on. The baths committee’s report was Coopted. Permission was granted to Cr. Egarr to take conglomerate stripping from the council’s metal pit, for the purpose of conducting experiments in the construction of footpaths.
