DISASTER IN GERMANY. A HUNDRED KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Berlin, Dec. 6. Fifteen persong were killed and twenty injured by an explosion of an oil tank at a dynamite factory at Saarwillingen, in the Saar region. Considerable damage was done to the town. Received Dec. 8, 7.35 p.m. Paris, Dec. 8. Advices from Berlin indicate that the Saarwillingen explosion was a disaster of the first magnitude. So far it has been ascertained that, a hundred people were killed. All the buildings in the vicinity of the factory were destroyed. The factory was the first to catch fire, and fifty workers in it were cut off and burned to death. The outside depots blew up in quick succession. Many of the dead were djsfigured and mutilated, and are not identifiable. The conflagration is believed to have been caused by the faulty handling of a lamp, from which the fire was communicated to a dynamite depot in which oil fluid was being made.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable' Assn.
