FORBURY PARK T.C. MEETING. CONCLUDING DAY’S RESULTS. PRINCE HUON WINS CUP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Dee. 3. The Forbury Park Trotting Club’s spring meeting concluded to-day in fine weather, the course being in good order. The totalisator handled ±; 36,746 for the day, as against £46,322 10s for the corresponding day last year, the total turnover for the meeting being £62,463 10s, as compared with £74,485 10s last year. The taxes to-day amounted to £826 17s 6d. Results: SECOND AMATEUR HANDICAP (saddle) ; one mile and five furlongs.—Cliff eton Chimes (Orlowski) 1, Prestissimo 2, Van Director 3. Also started: Wallace Dillon, Merrigal, Little Rain, Roth King, Pinefield, Gwendoline, Fontaine, Proud Nell, Limetield. Won by twenty lengths, the third horse twelve lengths away. Time, 4min 9 3-ssec. ADVANCE HANDICAP (harness) ; one mile and five furlongs.—Wee Daphne (A. McGregor) 1, Tobermory 2, Drambul '3. Tatsy Dillon led by a length into the straight, Prince Huon coming fast. The latter held the race safe at the distance, and then had to stave off a desperate challenge by Whispering Willie, who came at a tremendous rate and got second place, only half a length away from Prince Huon, Tatsy Dillon being another half length further back. Then came Coil, Nellie Scott, Royal Step, Captain Stanley, Trix Pointer and Peter Mae, in that order. Times: 4min 40 l-ssec, 4mln 33 2-ssec, 4min 41 3-ssec. TAINUI HANDICAP (saddle) ; two miles.— Malice (E. C. Heed) 1, Prince ons 2, Crusader 3. Also started: Bronwood, Nightcaps, Royal Chance, Seamount, Honest Ned, The Sheik. The stewards held an inquiry into Friday’s accident, in which several horses fell, and a jockey (Reed) had his collarbone broken, and came to the conclusion that it was purely an accident, no one being to blame. Lord Jersey, whose Scamp won the Ginicrack Stakes in August, was the guest at the Gimcrack Club. He strongly protested against racing men assenting to the introduction of the pari inutuel (totalisator) at British race meetings A certain sequel would be a fine source of revenue for the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
