HELP DURING CHRISTMAS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, Nov. 29. Labor members of district councils considered an extraordinary series of proposals for helping the unemployed. A meeting of the Erith Council was invaded by unemployed, who asked to ride free on* municipal trams and for free baths. It was also decided that a typewriter should be purchased for the unemployed committee. The Lewisham Council defeated a proposal to give every unemployed ten shillings f to buy toys for his children, and also oranges and nuts and material for the Christmas, pudding. These goods will, however, be added to the doles of provisions given unemployed at Christmas time.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asen.
