CRICKET.

AUSTRALIANS IN AFRICA. THE THIRD TEST. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 27, 5.5 p.m. Capetown, Nov. 26. For the third cricket test the weather was fine and the wicket in excellent condition. The attendance was very large. Armstrong, Oldfield, Taylor .and Hendry ’were omitted from the Australian side. Africa won the toss, Frank and Zulch opening and batting steadily. They were still together at the luncheon adjournment, though four bowlers had been tried and the fielding was of the keenest. Frank lost his wicket with the total at 50. Zulch played a good game, occasionally punishing the bowling. He took 140 minutes making his half century. After bls departure a collapse set in, Taylor, Blanckenburg and Carter being the only batsmen showing any confidence against the well-handled bowling talent. The fourth wicket went -at 106, the sixth at 110, the eighth at 146. The last wicket put on 29. Ryder, in the earlier stages, bore the brunt of the bowling and effectively’ kept down runs. Macdonald bowled with great pace. At one stage he sent down four overs for six runs and captured two wickets. Mai ley accounted for three of the last four wickets, tempting the batsmen to hit out. The smartest fielding did the rest. The Australians’ wickets were still intact when play ceased for the day. The scores were: SOUTH AFRICA. First Innings.
