MINERS’ WAGES.

SEPLY TO FEDERATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 26. Mr. T. O. Bishop, representing the mine-owners, makes the following statement in reply to Air. O Rourke, of the Miners’ Federation: “Mr. O'Rourke's organisation first causes the men to ignore the proceedings, then wails that the court Uid not consider them. One union appeared and gained by so doing. In fact, in all cases the court considered the men’s interests, and did not take my statements for granted. That the wages were reduced to the 1914 basis is a wicked untruth. All rates remain 50 and 60 per cent, higher than in 1914. The minimum wages of ISte is that provided by the national agreement. Truckers have always been paid on a sliding scale according to age.
