PRINCIPALS OF LONDON CONCERN. LARGE AMOUNT INVOLVED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 18, 8.5 p.m. London, Nov. 17. The liquidators of Nevanas Company. Ltd., charged William Henry Cuffin and Sidney Vigars Nevanas at the Guildhall with the fraudulent conversion of Government moneys totalling £170,90C while acting as Government meal agents. The prosecuting counsel said the allegation was that Cuffin and Nevanas utilised for their own use money coming into their hands which ought to have been paid to the Government. Cuffin had offered the liquidator £40,000 tc buy the company’s books and make . a clean sweep of the whole thing. The case was adjourned for a fortnight. Cuffin’s ban was £lO,OOO and Nevanas £lOOO. The latter’s counsel said Nevanas was without means anc had lost all his money in the company —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
