CHEAPENING WIRELESS. Sydney, Nov. 15. Mr. E. T. Fisk, on behalf of Amalgamated Wireless Limited, addressed the National Club regarding the cheapening of communication with the rest of the world. The scheme would cost £l,000.000. of which Amalgamated Wireless had £450,000 and desired the Commonwealth to subscribe the balance and take control. He promised to give a first-class service at one-third less cost per word than the cable and added that the Commonwealth, besides possessing a powerful plant, would be saved the present annual deficit of £60,000.
