It is estimated that a tonnage of 50,000 tons is idle in Australian ports, though indications point to brighter trade presently. INDUSTRIAL EXPANSION AT HOBART. Sydney, Nov. 9. Mr. W. G. Pascal], of Txmdon, has arrived in. Sydney. He explained that Cadbury’s, Fry’s and Pascalls were establishing large works near Hobart, involving* an expenditure of £400,000. The land acquired will be allotted to a factory site, shops, houses and playgrounds. WOOL EXPORT. ’ Melbourne. Nov. 9. The wool control regulations, prohibiting th? export of wool from Australia at prices lower than the Bawra reeerves, i expire to-day. A deputation asked Mr. Hughes for six months’ extension. He granted a fortnight and promised to refer the mutter to Cabinet.
