AUCTION ROOMS GUTTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Te Awamutu, Nov. 9. A fire occurred at midnight in a large iron building, owned by Lawson and Svain and occupied by Boyce and Faweatt, auctioneers. It originated in the back part of the building and quickly spread along the roof until the whole structure was ablaze. The brigade succeeded in confining the fire to, this budding, -which adjoins large blocks, but not before it was gutted and the contents almost completely ruined. The insurances arc jCSOO on the building in the State office and £44)0 on the stock in the Standard office. The loss considerably exceeds those figures.
