BOXING.
TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee „of the Taranaki Boxing Association was held last nigh*, ‘ when Mr. E. Jackson (deputy-chairman) pre-1 sided. There Were also present: Messrs. XV. ' N. Stephenson, W. Yardley, W. Whittaker, J ' Richards. Af. Stajjpoolc, J. Kurta, J. Garcia, E. Reed, J. Abbott. R. Barlow, H. Hawke, aud the secretary (Mr. E. Clarke). Apologies were received from Messrs. E. Whittle, N. Howell and R. Paul. The New Plymouth Boys’ High School wrote applying for the use of the association’s ruag and appointments on the occasion of the school boxing championships, which are to be held on the evening of November 18.—It was resolved to accede to the request, and also to thank the school on behalf of the officials of the association for the invitation to attend the competitions.
The deputy-chairman reported on the visit of the committee to Inglewood to consult with ■ Inglewood residents in regard to holding a | tournament at Inglewood. The report was on ' the same lines as appeared in yesterday’s | paper. The chairman said that from the vi>- | thusiasm shown there was no fear for me! success of the tournament; in fact, he con- i sidered it would be the forerunner of a strong , association at Inglewood, which had a good' district to draw from.—lt was resolved that the association approve of the recommendation of the sub-committee regarding the holding of a tournament at Inglewood on DecemIt was decided that as many members of the committee as possible should visit Inglewood on Monday night, when further arrange- , meats will be made for the tournament.
