Palestrina did a mile comfortably in Imin Sunny Corner and Kllcullcn ran half a mile In 53scc. Coniston beat Cupidon over seven furlongs in Imin 35 l-ssec. Royal Mae and Pitprop covered six furlongs In Imin 19 2-ssec. Winning Hit and Scrimmage ran a mile in Imin 47 3-ssec. Clean Sweep easily beat St. Easel and Orange Mart over five furlongs run in Imin 3 l-ssec. Royal Star beat Maioha over a mile and a quarter in 2mln 15 3-ssec. Isabel beat Starland'aver the same distance in 2min 15 2-ssec. Purple Spur ran six furlongs in Imin 17 3-5 sec. Tamatete ran nine furlongs in 2min Foo Chow, witn Matty for the last half, ran ten furlongs in 2min 14 2-ssec. Warlove, assisted over the last mile by Bluff, covered 10 furlongs In 2mln 15 3-ssec. Rude did seven furiongs in Imin 33sec. Limelight ran six furlongs In Imin 17 2-ssec. Headland beat Horatius over six furlongs Id lni'.n 17 4-ssec. BRITAIN AND THE TOTALISATOR. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright London, Oct. 31. In the House of Commons the Hume Secretary informed a questioner that he was not prepared to introduce a Bill to legalise the pari-mutuel (or totalisator). ENGLISH BETTING LAW. London, Oct. 31. In connection with the Bill which Lord Muxr Mackenzie is Introducing in the House of Lords to overcome the cheque betting difficulty, he states that he simply proposes to repeal the section of the existing Act which has caused the trouble, and to enable any debt payable legally in money to be paid by cheque. The Bill will contain a clause mailing it retrospective. Air. J. George returned home from Weill.ngtou yesterday with Alteration, Hallow and Hori. The latter developed a cold, and was not starred either day.
