LAWN TENNIS.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 1. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association Lord Jellicoe was elected patron, Mr. Seay (Christchurch) president; Air. Rotherham, delegate to the I. .wn Tennis Association, London ; Messrs. Baxter, Fox, Gore and Manchee, delegates to the Australasian Association; Mr. Kean, secretary and treasurer. A motion by Mr. KeesIng to held a conference to discuss matters concerning the game during the championship meeting in Christchurch was lost, only the. mover voting for it. Speakers looked upon the proposal as tantamount to a vote of want of confidence in the association. A proposal to Include two junior events in the banner competition met with opposition ;md was temporarily withdrawn. I t was decided that Now Zealand be represented on the Olympic Connell. Consideration of the accounts for the ♦•h VIS u UP contest a t Auckland was deferred till the next quarterly meeting. The secretary’s allowance was increased by £25 per annum.
