SOUTHERN MARKETS. A LIFELESS TONE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The market in all classes of grain and produce is unusually lifeless. Oats have further weakened, and weak holders are now coming on the market, and are offering A grade gartons at 3s 3V 2 d f.o.b. South Island, equivalent to about Is B%d at country stations. The cut is not conducive to much business, and in the meantime, with the abundance of feed that the rain has made available throughout the Dominion, the prospects of a revival are not very encouraging. Farmers are holding throughout the province fair quantities in their barns, where it is likely to remain unless an improvement sets in. WAIHI DIVIDEND. Auckland, Last Night.
