Replying to critics Mr. Oscar Asche declares that there is less to complain of in his new play than in some of the plays of which the public not only show no disapproval but which they cheer. He adds that there are always critics who try to run down everything. FRENCH WINE PRODUCTION. London, Oct. 71. The special correspondent of the Wine Trade Review, says that reports from French vineyards state that the champagne yield will be only about one-third that of 1920, but the quality promises to be one o-f the best for many years. The yield of claret is likely to be not far from an average return, and the quality is excellent. The yield of burgundy is expected hardly to reach half that of an ave 'age
