N.Z. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. RESULTS OF SEMI-FINALS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 10. The semi-finals of the ladies’ golf championship were played in misty, drizzly weather at Heretaunga this morning. Mrs. Guy Williams beat Miss N. The fourth went to Miss Wright, but Mrs. Williams picked up on the fifth. The score was all square at the seventh hole. Mrs. Williams was two up at the ninth hole, halved the tenth, lost the eleventh, won the twelfth, halved the thirteenth, and lost the fourteenth. The fifteenth was halved in two, Mrs. Williams executing a magnificent putt from the edge of the green. Miss Wright following this with another. The sixteenth hole went to Mrs. Williams, who was now two up, the seventeenth to Miss Wright, making the score again one. up in favor of Mrs. Williams. The last hole was halved —leaving Mrs. Williams winner. In the other semi-final Miss M. Payton (Auckland) beat Miss Bell (Wellington) 3 up and 2. At the tenth hole Miss Payton was 3 up, and kept the mastery. The ‘final two rounds are to-morrow morning and afternoon. THE ELTHAM CLUB.
