FIRE IN COAL MINE.
FLOODING RESORTED TO. LOSS OF COAL OUTPUT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A fire broke out in the Taupiri Company's Rotowaro mine yesterday morning. The fire was in one section, but the whole mine was closed during flooding, which was completed to-day. The cause is unknown. It will be some time before operations are resumed, involving a loss of output of 400 tons daily. Between 120 and 150 men employed at Rotowaro have been given work at the company’s other mine at Huntly.
