FRANKLEY ROAD.

SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION. The Frankley Road Settlers’ Association held their annual meeting on Monday, September 26, when the reading of the report and balance-sheet showed the association to be in a very satisfactory position. The chairman congratulated the members on the well sustained interest in their work as evidenced by the splendid attendance at all the meetings, eleven of which had*been held during the year, these including three lectures which had been greatly appreciated and the members were pleased to learn that similar meetings were being arranged for the ensuing year. Several items of interest to the district were discussed, the proposal from the Postal Department to charge an. annual delivery fee coming in for lively opposition. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, H. J. Hall, vice-president, J. Fenwick, secretary, N. Allen (re-elected), reporter, H. Hall (re-elected). One new member was enrolled and a vote of thanks to retiring officers terminated the meeting.
