AMAZING TRAGEDY.
FATHER SHOOTS HIS SON. PARENTS COMMIT SUICIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received Sept. 21, 5.5 p.m. Rome, Sept. 20. An astounding tragedy occurred at Salerno. A peasant, seeing a boy apparently stealing fruit from a tree, fired a gun to frighten the boy, who fell to the ground, and the peasant found his own son dead. His wife, who was nursing a baby, laid down the child and rushed to her son, and when the parents returned they found a pig had killed and half devoured the baby. The father and mother immediately drowned themselves in a well.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
