THE PORT TRAGEDY.

A LETTER OF THANKS. Captain Robert C. O’Brien, master of the Easterner, writes: “On behalf of the crew 7 of my vessel and the relatives of W. D. Lindsay and V. W. Landers, I wish to express my appreciation of the splendid sympathy extended. The tangible evidence of such sympathy and kindly feeling, as evidenced by the large number of people who attended the funeral of tw ; o strange lads, is a token of friendship and brotherhood that I will be proud to carry back to their loved ones. To the Returned Soldiers’ Association, to the Masonic fraternity, to the police, to the hospital, to the searchers on the beach, to those who sent floi'al emblems, to the publie and to the Press, I can only say ‘thank you.’ ”
