MALE CHOIR CONCERTS.
THE SECOND NIGHT. The New Plymouth Male Choir Society was (favored with good patronage last night on the occasion of the second concert of their season at the Empire Theatre. The choir’s numbers wore very well received, while the assisting artists, Messrs. Ernest Drake (tenor) and A. L. Moore (elocutionist) had to respond to numerous encores. During the interval Archdeacon Evans expressed the thanks of the society to the New Plymouth public for the support given to the concerts, and he hoped that in the near future many more subscribing members would be * added. A great deal of work was involved in the preparation, and the choir was deeply indebted to their conductor (Mr. McLeod). They had also been very fortunate in their choice of assisting artists generally. Mr. McLeod, in replying, thanked the rank and file for their support, and specially mentioned the work of Mr. Harold Morey, who had acted as accompanist during the last two seasons.
