CAMPAIGN AGAINST RATS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright Sydney. Sept. 16. Mr. M’Girr, Minister of Health, lias announced the inauguration of a campaign against rate, and other precautions throughout the State to combat plague outbreaks. Received Sept. 16, 7.25 pjn. Sydney, Sept. 16.
Owing to the plague outbreak a number of vessels are not calling at Brisbane. AU vessels arriving from Brisbane are carefully examined down the harbor, and fumigated after their cargo is discharged at the wharf.
