A CHILD’S DEATH.

TAXI DRIVER BLAMED By Telegraph. -Pm* Association Christchurch, Last Night. The inquest on Kathleen Archer, aged 12 years, who died from injuries received through being knocked down by a taxi driven by Archibald Lloyd on August 13, was concluded before Mr. McCarthy, coroner, to-day. The girl had alighted from a tram and was standing waiting for her mother to come round the end of the ear, when she was run down. The coroner found that death was due to various injuries; also that Lloyd’s driving was negligent in three particulars. Firstly, he was approaching at a high rate of speed two intersections, . and a tramcar which had stopped to allow passengers to board and alight. Secondly, he was not keeping*® vigilant look-out, and thirdly, he was under the influence of alcohol. It was this negligent driving which caused deceased’s death.
