TARATA DAIRY COMPANY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Tarata Co-oper-ative Dairy Company was held on Saturday in the Tarata Hall, where there was a fair attendance of shareholders. THE REPORT. Butter made amounted to 46 tons 14cwt. 3 qrs. 31b, being an increase of 7 tons lewt. iqr. 241 b over last year. Mr. Crowe said that some improvements should be done to factory, as the present structure required renovating. Mr. Webb brought up the matter of encouraging the Purangi settlers to get thdir cream to the factory, as the daily cream van had ceased to run for this season. The report and balance sheet were adopted. It was stated that there were 209 cows in the district for the coming season. On the motion of Mr. Dixon, it was resolved: That It be a recommendation to the incoming directors to inquire Into the cost of carting cream. ELECTION OF DIRECTORS. The ballot for the election of directors then took place and resulted as follows: —Askew 82, H. C. Hills 80, Simmons 72, Dixon 68, Burr Senr. 67, Paterson 64, Higgins 63, Crowe 50, Volsky 49) The first seven were elected, and 1 at a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. Askew was elected chairman.
