LONDON WOOL SALES.

The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 31st ultimo, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London :

Wool sales commenced yesterday with catalogue of 10 , JT36 bales privately owned wool. Good attendance and competition, and practically all sold. Home trade principal buyers. with useful support from Germany and France. Prices all round show advance on closing rates last sales, merinos being Id, fine and medium crossbreds Id, and coarse crossbreds %d dearer. First B.A.W.R.A. sales today. This week's offerings B.A.W.R.A. wool consists of:—

Australian.- Merino (greasy) 8,900 bales, (scoured) 2.180 bales; crossbred (greasy) 1,740 biilos, (scoured*) 400 bales.

New Zealand.—Cnossbred (greasy) 2,450 bales, (scoured) 850 bales, reconditioned 100 bales.

Privately owned wool to be offered consists of 20,000 bales Australian, 30,000 New Zealand, 18,000 South American, 2.000 Capo .Colony.
