THE VICTORIAN ELECTIONS. GOVERNMENT DEFEAT LIKELY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Melbourne, Sept. 2. There are still a few small returns to come in, but they do not promise much improvement in the position of the Government. It is anticipated that when the House meets the Labor Party will move a censure motion, and in the event of this receiving the support of the Farmers’ Party another defeat of the Government is practically certain. The State Parliament meets on Wednesday, and it is expected that, allowing for the Speaker and absentees, the Government minority will be three.
