FIGHTING IN VIRGINIA.

THE TROUBLE WITH MINERS. By Telegraph.—rress Assn.—Copyright. Received September 2, 8.5 p.m. Washington, September 1. Mr. J. W. Weeks (Secretary for War) has ordered a dozen aeroplanes to proceed to the West Virginia mine dispute area to grapple with any eventuality, and troops are waiting for the word to proceed to the Mingo district. Martial law is expected. President Harding has a proclamation for that purpose signed and held in readiness. Reports from the Mingo indicate that thirty miners have already been killed. —Aus.-N.Z.
