WIRELESS SERVICE.
FROM BRITAIN TO AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright Sydney, Sept. 1. At the annual meeting of the Amalgamated Wireless Company of Australasia, Limiteel, Sir Thomas Hughes, chairman, urged the great necessity for providing a direct commercial wireless service between Australia and Britain. He considered the proposed English scheme was unsuitable, both in respect to efficiency and the undue cost of messages, and declared that the Australasian Company was in a position to supply, on the best possible basis, one of the greatest needs of Australasia with reasonable prospects for a good return on the capital required.
