INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) August 22. It is hardly necessary, perhaps, to re-assert the well-known fact that the Moa district of Taranaki stands high in the estimation of dairymen in various parts of the North Island, as a place where first-class dairy stock are reared. If evidence in favor of this assertion were needed ii was to be had last week, when one of our erstwhile well-known fellow settlers, and a shrewd man too, t-ame all the way from his present home up Thames way and secured 'twent.. head of locally-bred Holstein Friesian heifers, which lie sent forward by rail. Most of these weje from the line herd of Air. Jas. Hodges, of Bedford Road, near Inglewood, who is probably the most consistent upholder of that breed in the district. The cattle were a very line Jot, to which the honor of Inglewood may safely be entrusted. Anyhow that is what Mr. Williams’ many friends here will hope, as well for the interests of the Moa district as for those of their new owner.
