RUSSIAN FAMINE.
CONFERENCE AT GENEVA By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Geneva, August 17. The conference dealing with the question of the Russian famine has appointed Dr. Nansen and Mr. Hoover chief commissioners, fully empowered for the administration of relief. They are to co-operate as far as possible with Russian governmental and voluntary organisations. The Supreme Council of the League of Nations has been notified of the formation of the Council, in order to secure unified governmental and private action and co-operation. The League Council is issuing an urgent world-wide appeal to all charitable organisations for prompt and generous assistance.
